Tapping on what we hear from our subconscious mind

 

YouTapping aims to release emotional discomfort at the subconscious root. Before continuing or practicing YouTapping, please read our disclaimer and agree to its conditions.

 

VERY IMPORTANT: When speaking the words below (or any words and phrases that you use under this topic), DO NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE WORDS. You need only speak the words like you would when saying "It looks like it's going to rain". Do not try to believe them or give importance to them however you should still concentrate on the words as you speak them. The subconscious does not take ownership of things - that is done by the conscious mind - so therefore we do not need to own them for this either. The following section is a starting method for those who may have attempted Self Enquiry (see here), but found it a struggle to understand. Don't forget to tap while you are saying the words. At the end of the phrase, try holding your fingers still and in the tapping position for several seconds (eg over the collarbone).

buddhaHaving had good results on tapping on what we remember hearing from others, it is obvious that there is a great deal more that could be addressed.

In particular, if it is understood that the subconscious mind repeats what it hears, then it would be reasonable to assume that it has spoken in the terms of 'you are...' and not 'I am...'. If the reader is able to meditate to a deep level they may in fact discover that this is indeed the case. However, if not, the reader may instead have a sense of emotional change or energetic change that is felt physically followed by your conscious mind stating a comment that may or may not be the truth such as 'I am fat' (ie it is repeating what it has heard from your subconscious 'You are fat').

It would then follow that whenever we suddenly have a shift in the way we feel, that it had actually been suggested subconsciously to feel that way. So for example, the single thought of doing something - like making a phone call or meeting someone - would trigger other beliefs that had accumulated on the subject in the past. if we were walking past someone and suddenly felt uncomfortable or energetically different, it was because our subconscious had prompted our conscious mind 'You don't like the way she looks' and immediately our body had reacted in discomfort - perhaps with the feeling of fear or of some other energy. Now truly, this is just programming and is only a response from a situation that may have occured previously. For example, as a child, we may have seen a woman with similar appearance or dressed or carrying herself energetically in a similar way, who had reacted strangely and caused fear or uncertainty inside of us. This fear will continue to stay within our body until we use EFT or YouTapping or something similar to let it go/release it.

We begin by tapping at times when our mind is reasonably quiescent and we are better able to distinguish the quieter subconscious words or feelings and tap on them. Don't worry if you don't get a sense of the words themselves, you will normally be able to intuitively guess what the phrase or words may be. Start by looking at what your conscious mind says (eg from below 'I don't want to win'), and then move backwards as though you had heard the words from someone else and you were repeating them. So in this example, that person was saying 'You don't want to win' and you say 'I don't want to win'. With practice, you will begin to find this easier. It is important that you continue to tap as you are carrying out the process.Then as we progress, we are able to hear/intuit with more certainty according to the practice we carry out. It is important to try and be in the moment as you are saying the words and do not try to jump too quickly from one phrase to the next.

 

So, for example, we might tap on the following :

'You don't want to win'
'You don't want to win'
'You don't want to win'

AND

'You can't do that'
'You can't do that'
'You can't do that'

AND

'If you succeed, you won't be happy'
'If you succeed, you won't be happy'
'If you succeed, you won't be happy'

 

Maybe you need to make a phone call but for some reason you keep putting it off - maybe you feel fear thinking about doing so...:

'You don't want to call her'
'You don't want to call her'
'You don't want to call her'

AND

'You're afraid to call her'
'You're afraid to call her'
'You're afraid to call her'

AND

'She's gonna yell at you'
'She's gonna yell at you'
'She's gonna yell at you'

 

Now as suggested on the home page, these phrases may very well be words that were spoken to you by others (and therefore similar to 'Tapping on what we hear from other'). Or it may be decisions that your conscious mind created and which were stored back in the subconscious for later use (eg at moments when you really wanted to win but were not sure of what would happen afterwards). Either way, it will not take long for you to realise the phrases that go together - the ones that are quieter and subtler, the ones you know intuitively that you are hearing yourself say before making the phone call.

If you have been doing affirmations but yet continue to struggle against the words you are saying to yourself, it may be that you are saying 'I am abundant' and yet your subconscious is saying 'no you're not'...ever the practical sub conscious just telling it like it is. So then tap on 'no you're not' and 'you're not abundant' and any other such answers. You are in effect scrubbing the lines of code that have been written into your subconscious freeing up space for better things.

You may wonder why it is necessary to do this at all. In fact, it might seem reduntant when you can just use EFT to work on the conscious statement. However, if you can cut the statement from the root i.e the subconscious, then you are halting any further ability of it to create an emotional response. Though EFT is profoundly successful, you may find that YouTapping brings a deeper release.
